Standard Six: Communication
A teacher must be able to use knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.
My interpretation: A teacher must be a clear communicator. Students perform well when instruction and expectations are clearly presented. In this day-and-age, a teacher must also be able to utilize multi-media and technology platforms in order to communicate with students.

Since I was interested in how culturally relevant pedagogy relates to science class, I decided to research the topic. I clearly communicated my findings in a working bibliography that I produced for one of my methods courses. I also produced a presentation in order to communicate the findings to my classmates.
